“Novaks, you just bought an RV! What are you going to do next?”

WE’RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!
Ok, so we didn’t go to Disney World IMMEDIATELY after we bought the RV.  But it was the first destination that popped into my head when we were thinking of places to take the family.  Because when you think about making MAGICAL family memories, where else do you think of??!?!?!

Never mind that we had just been to Disney twice within the past two years.  There is no such thing as too much Disney!  I, for EPCOT_CHRCON2_7578841114one, could live there!  And, we had never stayed at a Disney resort before.  Harvey gave us an opportunity to stay on resort for a fraction of the cost of other Disney resorts!  We enjoyed the many perks of a resort stay including extra magic hours, park transportation, magic bands, and being able to make fast pass selections an entire month earlier than non-resorters was a HUGE bonus!  Going to Disney in the RV was a no-brainer.

So, just ten days after we pulled into the driveway from our Savannah trip, we pulled out of the driveway again to head to Orlando.  And here, my friends, is the beauty of the RV… before we left we were telling people that we expected it to take about 15-17 hrs to get there from the Akron area.  People scoffed!  “Pfft!”,  “HA!”, “No. Way.”, they said. “It just can’t be done!’, they said.  So we set out to prove them wrong!  You’d be surprised how much time you save not having to stop for food breaks and bathroom breaks.  We stopped a couple of times to switch drivers (I had gotten some practice on the Savannah trip!) and to get some much needed Starbucks.  We did stop over night, but when all was said and done, it was a total of 16.5 hours of drive time.  The faster you get there, the more time you have for Disney awesomeness!

We stayed at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground.  Since we had packed so much Disney into such a short amount of time, we did not have time to really enjoy all that this place had to offer.  We heard rumors of a great pool, a campfire sing a long with chip IMG_6700and dale, and outdoor movie nights.  But, alas, those would have to wait for another time since we spent every waking moment at one of the parks.  We did get to eat there at both the Trail’s End restaurant and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue.  Both were delicious and the Revue was a riot! We WILL be going back to stay some other time when we can relax and enjoy everything the campground has to offer.

Confession.  I have been taking such a LONG time to write this post.  Mostly because I just don’t know what to focus on or tell you about all the amazingness that Disney has to offer.  But, Ive figured it out.  Folks, I am not a Disney blogger.  I am not a Disney expert or know-it-all.  Just an enthusiast.  So, all I can say is, if you’ve never been, just GO.  Yes, it’s expensive.  GO.  Yes, it may be far away.  GO.  Yes, you may have to take your kids out of school to go at the best times.  Guess what?  GO.  It is worth the MK_MSGAZETT_7580041799money, it is worth the travel, it is worth missing a few days of school.  And if you’ve already been GO AGAIN.  K?

I will tell you that Zac and I agreed that this Disney trip was by far the best in comparison to the two we had taken previously.  And then I sat down and really tried to figure out why.  Was it that the kids were a bit older and could enjoy more things?  Was it that we went during a slower time?  Was it that this time we stayed on resort and were fully immersed in everything Disney?  Nope, none of those things.  It was that we were HOME and at DISNEY at the same time.  When we got back to our “hotel” in the evening, we were home!  In our own beds with our own things.  And that made the trip all the more magical for us.

GO.
